Trace Mineral Determination

"The notion of heavy metals is a factual concept, industrial, empirical, without scientific, technical or legal definition that is unanimously recognized".

Indeed, some minerals and metal elements are normal components of food and participate in their nutritional qualities. In contrast, "heavy metal" may endanger the health of consumers. It is therefore important to monitor their content in foodstuffs. Furthermore, their analysis is necessary to ensure compliance with regulations.

To detect and quantify the minerals and heavy metals, in addition to Ionic chromatography, SARCO uses the latest technology available in atomic absorption (SAACHR) that combines the benefits of classic atomic absorption and optical emission spectroscopy. This technique ensures reliable results with extremely low detection thresholds.

SARCO is able to determine various compounds on all types of matrices: wines, food, water, earth....

Analytical results are interpreted according relevant laws and standards (please contact us).
